BIRDING FOR BEGINNERS: Have you ever seen a bird hopping around in your backyard that you couldn't identify? Or seen a bird gliding effortlessly in the sky and wondered what it is? Join animal naturalist, Jessica Krippel, for a lesson in bird watching. Learn to identify Western North Carolina's birds of prey, waterfowl, woodpeckers, and songbirds. Also, get tips on what binoculars and bird identification guides are best for beginners and learn how to use these essential tools. Wondering how to attract those attractive hummingbirds to your feeder? We'll also cover which birds prefer certain foods and how to get them to your feeder. WOOL DYING DAY AT THE FARM: Come and experience the enchantment of dyeing wool and other natural fibers using commercial dyes to create a multitude or rich colors and tones. The dyeing process will be demonstrated throughout the day, producing an array of beautiful fibers, inspiring any fiber enthusiast. Program will be presented by Debbie Trantham from critter Crossing Farm. Program is appropriate for ages 9 and up.
